Next Tuesday is the primary election in Virginia. That means in just a matter of days, the field will be set for November, and we need to be prepared to hit the ground running.
As a reminder, abortion is once again on the ballot. The next step to advance our amendment for reproductive freedom is for the House of Delegates to pass it for the second time during the upcoming legislative session. For that to happen, we need to first protect and expand our pro-abortion rights majority in the House, but we cannot do it alone.
We only have a slim (2 vote) majority in the House of Delegates, and Republicans on the ballot this year have made it abundantly clear that they do not support a person’s right to choose what they can and cannot do with their body. That is why we are going to need your help to support pro-abortion rights candidates who advance from next week’s primaries in key districts across the state.
We are setting a goal of raising $10,000 between now and Tuesday so that we can help pro-choice, progressive candidates immediately kick off their general election campaigns. We are counting on your support.
