**From LA to Dallas:**

**How ICE Protests Took Over Our City**

On Monday night, roughly 400 protesters gathered [link removed] on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas to protest federal immigration enforcement actions

**, not in Dallas**, but in

**Los Angeles**. Organized by the Party for Socialism and Liberation and supported by the Brown Berets, the crowd chanted anti-ICE slogans and waved signs as they marched into the streets, bringing traffic to a halt.

As the sun set, the situation escalated. Dallas police issued dispersal orders around 10 p.m. and began moving in to restore order. What followed was chaos: protesters clashing with officers, pepper spray deployed, and at least one person detained. Media coverage focused on claims of excessive force, but failed to ask the bigger question

**, why was any of this happening in Dallas?**

Let’s be clear: this protest wasn’t about Dallas. But

**our police were pulled from real public safety needs** to manage a politically charged street blockade that had nothing to do with our city. This is what happens when City Hall sends mixed signals. The louder the messaging about being a “welcoming city,” the more activist groups see Dallas as a soft target for their demonstrations.

This isn’t the first time Dallas has been hijacked [link removed] by out-of-state issues, and it won’t be the last if city leaders continue to stay silent. While violent crime rises and homeless encampments expand, they choose ideology over enforcement, leaving residents caught in the crossfire.

It’s time to demand accountability. Contact your city council member and ask where they stand. Should Dallas police be forced to clean up protests over LA policy, or should our leaders finally put Dallas first?

**City Hall enables ICE protest CHAOS.**

Executive Director Mark Lutchman dives into another chaotic week in Dallas—from ICE protests and violent teen crime to ignored murder warnings and more illegal immigrant arrests. While City Hall spins talking points about progress, the streets tell a different story: broken gates, missing suspects, over 700 prior offenses tied to one killer, and families still being ignored.

As DPD cracks down and Chief Comeaux tries to change course, the real question is:

**will Dallas leaders back the police, or the protestors throwing fireworks at them?**

Major Drug & Weapons Busts in Dallas—Glock Switches, & Fentanyl [link removed]

Dallas police and federal agents seized nearly a kilo of fentanyl, over 100 grams of cocaine, and multiple illegally modified firearms, including Glock switches that turn pistols into machine guns. There is a deadly mix of drugs and illegal weapons flooding Dallas neighborhoods. This is what understaffed officers are up against every day.

Stolen Car Crashes Into DPD Cruiser, Juvenile Suspect Killed [link removed]

Three juveniles robbed a man at gunpoint, stole his car, and led Dallas police on a high-speed chase, ending in a head-on crash with a DPD cruiser. One suspect was killed, two others hospitalized, and two officers injured. This is what happens when violent crime and reckless youth collide —  our streets pay the price.

Family Says DPD Ignored Pleas Before Woman Found Murdered [link removed]

Olivia Rodriguez, 30, was found stabbed to death in a Dallas apartment after her family begged police for help for over a week. They say they provided her location and warned something was wrong, but were ignored until it was too late. Now a mother is left asking why no one listened.

**Dollar Signs and Desperation"**

Perched on the edge of the Arts District, a man holds a handmade sign asking for “$ ONE $ DOLLAR Please!” while sitting at a busy highway off-ramp. It’s not just a sign of need, it’s a sign of how common this has become across Dallas.

**Councilmember Paul Ridley, how long do we let our cultural gateways become magnets for unchecked panhandling?**

**District 2, Councilman Jesse Moreno**

**"Sidewalk Settlement on Harry Hines"**

Right outside Love Field, a growing encampment has taken over the sidewalk along Harry Hines Blvd. People are camped out under trees with scattered belongings, tarps, and debris, just feet from a busy road.

**Councilman Jesse Moreno, how long do you plan to tolerate this as the new normal in District 2?**

**District 6, Councilman Omar Narvaez**

**"Storey Ln Sadness"**

On Storey Ln in Koreatown, a man in a wheelchair sits shirtless beside an overflowing shopping cart, surrounded by trash and overgrowth. This isn’t dignity, it’s desertion.

**Councilman Omar Narvaez, how long will District 6 treat public spaces like dumping grounds for human suffering?**

**Mission Statement:**

Keep Dallas Safe exists to address crime and homelessness in Dallas with the goal of transforming Dallas into the safest large city in Texas for residents and businesses. We aim to have a City Council that prioritizes crime rate which directly determines the quality of life in Dallas. We do this by fighting against the "defund the police" movement, holding accountable our city leaders' efforts towards lowering district crime rates, and highlighting our city's homelessness problems by pushing for enforcement of the prohibition of urban camping.
