John- "We're gonna have a lot worse, a lot worse trouble." That's what NRA's new Executive Director said on a podcast about our fight to pass gun safety laws as he continues to spew extreme rhetoric. The NRA might be afraid of our grassroots power, but that hasn't stopped the gun lobby from spending millions of dollars lobbying for a national Concealed Carry Mandate, immunity for the gun industry, and repeal of critical gun safety laws. Our volunteers are mobilizing to stop extreme gun lobby legislation in state legislatures and on Capitol Hill. But we need to ramp up our organizing and advocacy for gun violence prevention measures we know save lives. And we can only build on our progress with your help.
In just the first three months of this year, the gun lobby spent more than $2.4 million lobbying Congress to promote their guns everywhere agenda. What's at the top of their legislative list in Washington? Making concealed carry legal in every single state in the country and de-regulating silencers. The gun lobby won't stop pushing their extreme agenda with Trump in the White House and a top Trump donor as the NRA president. This is a moment where our movement must have the resources to be as strong as possible. We're more determined than ever to pass new gun safety laws and strategize on key campaigns to defeat the gun lobby's and Trump's extreme agenda and get to work to help elect Gun Sense Candidates.
