Dear John,

Most of us know that solar power is one of the most reliable and affordable sources of clean electricity — and here in Maine, thousands of people are already saving money by joining community solar programs. But right now, lawmakers in Augusta are about to vote on a bill that could take those savings away.

LD 1777 [[link removed]] would retroactively hit solar projects with new fees — increasing electric bills by as much as 15%.

This new fee structure won’t just increase electric bills but could also put the brakes on new community solar projects across the state. That means fewer clean energy jobs, higher energy costs long-term, and more pollution from fossil fuels. All at a time when we desperately need solutions to lower bills and to fight climate change. Can we count on you to join us in telling Maine lawmakers to stand up for community solar? [[link removed]]

Tell Maine lawmakers: I support Community Solar! [[link removed]]

This move would be especially unfair to renters, lower-income households, and anyone who can’t afford rooftop solar but still wants to be part of Maine’s clean energy future. We need lawmakers to fix this bill before it becomes law.

Send a message [[link removed]] to your legislators today and tell them to protect solar savings and amend LD 1777. Together, we can make sure clean energy stays affordable and accessible for everyone in Maine.

Thank you for taking action,
