Hi Friend,
When Jefferson from Peru noticed his son, Liam, hiding his eyes, he knew there was a problem. Liam struggled with strabismus, an eye condition that made his eyes look in different directions, and though Jefferson initially sought local treatment for his son, he realized he needed specialized care.
As a laborer, Jefferson had to make big sacrifices to bring Liam to an Orbis-supported eye care center in the capital city of Lima. “It takes 16 to 18 hours by bus, and it is a big expense,” he tells us, “But we have managed it.”
Thanks to his father’s dedication, and your sight-saving support, Liam received surgery during a pediatric Orbis training project in Peru—and his transformation was instant.
After surgery, Jefferson tells us how happy he is for his son. “I can already see his improvement in his vision. It gives me great joy and enormous pleasure to see my son much better. I am eternally grateful.”
We wish a Happy Father's Day to Jefferson and all the fathers and father-figures being celebrated this Sunday.
