On Thursday night, Israel began a strategic set of attacks across Iran, including the bombing of key nuclear and ballistic missile sites. They also took out key leaders, including Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. commander Gen. Hossein Salam and have attacked many other senior military leaders and other IRGC sites.

There are additional waves of attack underway. This is likely as a result of five rounds of US-Iran talks which have not been successful with a sixth-round originally scheduled for Sunday.
Clearly, Israel’s actions demonstrate that they had no belief that these negotiations would be successful and they had no choice but to stop this radical Iranian regime to have nuclear weapons.
This comes off the heels of a scathing report that the International Atomic Energy Agency issued that Iran was concealing and hiding its program to enrich uranium into weapons grade material. They declared that Iran was not complying with its nuclear nonproliferation obligations,. This negative resolution by the UN watchdog agency was the first one in 20 years. Tehran responded by condemning this resolution.
US Not Involved In Attack
The US was not part of this unilateral attack which has put some distance between the US and Israel and Secretary of State Marco Rubio distanced the US from this attack in his statement:
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio also issued a statement:
“Tonight, Israel took unilateral action against Iran. We are not involved in strikes against Iran and our top priority is protecting American forces in the region. Israel advised us that they believe this action was necessary for its self-defense. President Trump and the Administration have taken all necessary steps to protect our forces and remain in close contact with our regional partners. Let me be clear: Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel.”
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu - expressed the “clear and present danger” by the Terrorists of Tehran to Israel’s very survival and will not allow Israel to be a victim of a “nuclear holocaust perpetuated by the Iranian Regime” .
Currently, the Trump Administration has indicated that the US would not participate in the attacks, but the US has historically come to Israel’s defense from attacks by Iran. President Trump has warned Iran not to take action against the US.
Israel is in a State of Emergency with only “necessary” activities.
This is a direct attack to Iran who has been funding and arming proxy wars against Israel and Israel is finally focusing on cutting off the head of the snake.
Netanyahu Issues Message to Iranian People of a Bright Future
Netanyahu also included a special message to the Iranian people to tell them that this fight is not with Iranians but with the the brutal dictatorship that has become more radical. He also stated that “the day of the liberation is near” for the Iranians to be free from this regime and that the “ancient friendship” between Iranians and Israelis will thrive once again.
Key Democrats Weigh In Showing a Divide in the Party
As this pre-emptive strike continues and the US is being careful at this time, a split is forming in the Democrat party on Israel
Connecticut’s own Chris Murphy blamed this on Trump and Netanyahu stated:

All that can be done in this time is what US Ambassador to Israel - Mike Huckabee tweeted: At our Embassy in Jerusalem and closely following the situation. We will remain here all night. “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem!”
