SOUND THE ALARM: DHS Assault Against U.S. Senator Alex Padilla
Sen. Alex Padilla was just assaulted for simply doing his job.
While standing up for his constituents who were demanding answers to the Trump administration's egregious actions, Sen. Alex Padilla was assaulted at the Department of Homeland Security press conference and forcibly removed and put in handcuffs.
Let's call this what it is: a disgraceful abuse of power.
The Trump administration will retaliate against any American who speaks out against him — and if this is how they treat a sitting U.S. Senator, then just imagine how far they'll go.
EMILYs List women won't sit by and let them get away with it:
"The date is June 12, 2025. The location is Los Angeles, California, United States of America. A U.S. Senator who questioned this President's actions was forcibly thrown to the ground by armed officers. This is the America Trump always wanted. It's up to us to save our country."
- Sen. Angela Alsobrooks, Maryland
"...This administration is sending the National Guard and armed Marines into neighborhoods and now, shoving to the ground and handcuffing a U.S. Senator at a public briefing. We need some answers and accountability from this administration, immediately."
- Sen. Tammy Baldwin, Wisconsin
"This is a sad and frightening state of affairs. This administration will stop at nothing to keep elected officials from doing our jobs and demanding accountability for our constituents. We're seeing it in real time: they don't want oversight they want total control."
- Rep. LaMonica McIver, NJ-10
"As Trump continues his unlawful militarization in our cities, remember that there is power in community. We take care of us. Let's remain informed of our rights, create safety plans and meet each other's needs, and only shared verified information. We resist when we remain united and informed."
- Rep. Delia Ramirez, IL-03
"An administration that tackles a *sitting US Senator* to the ground and handcuffs him for asking a simple question at an open press conference should scare everyone. Anyone who believes in our democracy needs to say this with me: This👏is 👏 not 👏 acceptable 👏.”
- State Sen. Ghazala Hashmi, VA-SD15
