Hi team, it’s Ben.
As a nation, we are in a terrifying moment. We have a president who is looking for every excuse to declare emergencies.
Trump sent a federalized National Guard, and then hundreds of Marines, into a protest in Los Angeles that local authorities asked them not to get involved in. Trump is intentionally trying to provoke and create an escalation of tensions in order to justify a military crackdown.
Our party convention in the Wisconsin Dells starts on June 14, Flag Day, and the day of Trump's birthday parade, where lines of tanks will roll through the streets of Washington, D.C. This is a show of military force by someone who wants to be a dictator. It's also the same day as the nationwide No Kings protest, in communities all over Wisconsin and all over the country.
At the convention, we’ll be continuing the critical work of building up an operation capable of limiting the damage from this Trump administration and preserving our democracy by fighting to elect people who believe democracy should continue.
The fight against autocracy starts at the state level, and WisDems are at the forefront of it. To continue building sustained, long-term grassroots support, will you help WisDems keep up the fight by donating $25 right now? »

Despite Trump's executive orders and his attempts to override state election law, elections are run at the state level, not by the federal government. If we want to avoid collapsing into a long term autocracy, the critical thing to preserving democracy in 2028—to make sure elections continue freely and fairly in Wisconsin—will be to elect people who believe in democracy.
In 2026, we've already ensured that there will be a pro-democracy majority on our state Supreme Court by electing Susan Crawford. We have a chance to grow our Supreme Court majority, then at long last, flip the Assembly majority, the Senate majority and win every statewide office, Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State and Treasurer.
We have a chance to ensure that Wisconsin survives Trump’s attempt to undermine democracy, but to do that takes a year-round effort of organizing like the kind done by WisDems. Will you help fuel our work by donating $25 today? »
As a supporter of WisDems, you’re helping to fight something so much bigger than any of us. It's been such an honor for me to be part of this alongside you for these last six years that I've served this chair. Thank you all so much, and I hope to see you at the convention.
With gratitude,
Ben Wikler
