While the National Guard’s guns are trained on American citizens in Los Angeles, California Senator Alex Padilla was just forcibly and violently removed from an LA press conference for simply trying to ask Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem a question. He was forcefully shoved to the ground and handcuffed.

Republicans push back when we call Donald Trump a dictator, but let’s look at the record.

In the first few months of his second term, Donald Trump has:

• Pardoned violent January 6 insurrections
• Defied Supreme Court orders
• Attacked the free press
• Attacked the judiciary
• Unilaterally abolished agencies
• Kidnapped people off the streets and deported them to a foreign prison without due process

And now, he has deployed the active duty military in American cities.

This is dystopian. It’s horrific. And it is full-blown authoritarianism. Donald Trump is trying to thwart free speech, undermine due process, and dismantle our democracy.
