Hi there,
My name is Zach Wahls. I’m a father, 6th-generation Iowan, and state Senator. And I’m announcing my campaign for Iowa’s U.S. Senate seat against Joni Ernst.
Here’s the deal: Washington politicians are screwing over Iowans. We need new leadership that puts working families first, and has the courage to stand up to the insiders and special interests — and that’s exactly what I’ve done as an advocate and state senator.
With your help, I can win this race, defeat Joni Ernst, and flip this seat…but I can’t do it alone:
Will you split a contribution between my campaign and iVote Fund to become a Founding Donor? I’m counting on grassroots support from people like you to defeat Joni Ernst and bring Iowa values back to Washington.

As an Eagle Scout, I learned early on the importance of bravery — the courage to stand up for what’s right, especially when it’s hard.
You may remember me from a speech I gave when I was younger, defending the freedom to marry for all Iowans, including my own two moms.

“We’re Iowans. We don’t expect anyone to solve our problems for us, we’ll fight our own battles, we just hope for equal and fair treatment from our government.”
That speech launched me into work across our state and then across the country, but it was just the beginning. Since then, I've been fighting for Iowa families in the state Senate — taking on out-of-state corporations exploiting mobile home residents, leading the effort to ban politicians from insider trading, and cutting taxes for middle-class families.
As a legislator, I’ve had the courage to fight for families like yours, just like I fought for my own family — and to call out the political insiders who’d rather line their own pockets than actually get things done for the people.
Just look at my opponent, Senator Joni Ernst. After a decade in Washington, she's broken her promise to serve only two terms and completely lost touch with Iowa families.
When Joni was elected, she promised to make Washington “squeal.” But ten years later, it’s clear that Joni Ernst didn’t change Washington D.C. — Washington D.C. changed Joni Ernst.
Just a few days ago, when Iowans warned her that the GOP’s bill gutting Medicaid would kill people, she responded, “Well we’re all going to die.”
That’s not leadership. That’s cowardice.
I’m not afraid to stand up to anybody to support our workers, call out corruption, and give every Iowan a shot to achieve their dreams — just like I’ve done my entire career. So, as we kick off this campaign, I’m asking you to join me.
Early support is critical to building a winning campaign, which is why I have to ask: Will you split a donation between my campaign and iVote Fund to become a Founding Donor? Every donation makes a real difference.
We need leaders who are ready to stand up for us. As your U.S. Senator, my promise to you is that I will never stop fighting for you and your family every single day, the same way that I have fought for my own family.
Scout’s honor.
