As early as October 18th, the United Nations Arms Embargo against Iran is due to expire, under the terms of the JCPOA, the Iranian nuclear deal negotiated by the Obama administration in 2015, together with Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany. This will most likely open the door for an Iranian shopping spree of lethal weapons throughout the world.

The Trump administration is trying to extend the international arms embargo in the United Nations, however they are more than likely to meet resistance from Russia and China, as well as many European nations who are upset with the Trump administration for leaving the deal, two years ago. On top of that, the UN watchdog for monitoring nuclear compliance, the IAEA, (International Atomic Energy Administration) has recently come out saying that Iran has not opened up at least two auspicious sites for inspections.

As recently as Monday, June 15th, IAEA Director Mariano Grossi demanded that Iran open up these suspicious sites immediately for inspections. Here to discuss these important topics, as well as to provide a general background about Iran’s history of malfeasance are CEO of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies Mark Dubowitz and Senior Director of the Jewish Policy Center Shoshana Bryen.
