John, this is the real face of Trump and his administration — and it's dangerous.

Just hours ago, Senator Alex Padilla was handcuffed at a news conference with Trump's handpicked Homeland Security Secretary, Kristi Noem, for daring to question the administration's ICE operations in LA. Earlier this week, the Trump administration’s Department of Justice indicted Rep. LaMonica McIver for standing up against their cruel immigration agenda.

This is clear intimidation and political retribution. Both Senator Padilla and Rep. McIver were within their full rights to question the administration and stand up for justice. But instead of being treated as members of Congress working on behalf of the people they serve, Donald Trump and his cronies are doing everything they can to silence them.

This comes as Trump ordered troops into Los Angeles in response to more immigration protests, and ICE is carrying out mass raids in neighborhoods across the country.

John, one thing is crystal clear: This administration is using the power of the federal government to target dissent and punish its political opponents. And House Republicans are staying silent, and even worse, they're complicit by enabling Trump’s abuse of power. They’ve shown they don’t deserve to hold the gavel.
