Big win for the Boundary Waters in Washington, D.C. The dangerous anti-Boundary Waters language in the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” has been removed. But make no mistake, the fight is far from over. In fact, just as we were celebrating these wins late yesterday, Secretaries of Agriculture and Interior announced via a callous and inaccurate Tweet that they will be overturning the hard-won 20-year mining ban in the watershed of the Boundary Waters. They claim to have consulted with the people of Minnesota about the Boundary Waters when they clearly have not.
