Denying In-State Tuition to Undocumented Students Hurts All Texans -The Texas Dream Act, which has allowed undocumented students in Texas to qualify for in-state tuition, was recently revoked following lawsuits from the Department of Justice and the Texas Attorney General. Critics of this move argue the repeal will limit access to higher education, harm economic growth, and reduce the state’s talent pool in critical industries. Over 80 organizations have signed on to a letter urging the attorney general to reverse course, calling the decision both legally flawed and economically damaging. The letter highlights that the Act complies with federal law and has generated billions in tax revenue and economic activity.

Abbott, Texas Groups Endorse Cornyn-Led Push to Bring Space Shuttle Discovery to Houston - Senator John Cornyn’s Bring the Space Shuttle Home Act aims to relocate the Space Shuttle Discovery from Virginia to Houston’s Johnson Space Center, correcting what supporters call a political oversight that denied Houston a shuttle despite its central role in spaceflight. The proposal has received strong backing from Governor Abbott and Houston’s space industry leaders, who argue that Discovery’s presence would boost education, tourism, and the regional space economy. The bill seeks to fulfill the original intent of the 2010 NASA Authorization Act, which prioritized shuttle placement in cities with deep historical ties to the program.

Pat Fallon Introduces the FAST Act - Representative Pat Fallon introduced the FAST Act to allow the Department of Defense to procure software and data services that support the development of artificial intelligence systems. The bill emphasizes leveraging the U.S. free-market system to accelerate innovation and maintain a strategic edge over global competitors like China. Fallon emphasizes that future conflicts will hinge on information access and AI capabilities rather than traditional weaponry.
