This Saturday, Donald Trump is throwing himself a vanity parade in D.C.

We should honor and recognize the Army’s 250th birthday. We should celebrate and thank our troops and their families. There’s a right way, and a wrong way, to honor our servicemembers.

Donald Trump is doing it the wrong way — making this anniversary all about himself. He’s spending tens of millions of dollars on a military parade, on his birthday. For Trump, it’s more about personal glory than patriotism.

Jason Crow has served in the military and in combat. He knows what it takes to protect our country and support the men and women in uniform. For Jason, honoring service means fighting every day for veterans and military families by making sure they get the care, respect, and benefits they deserve.

While Trump stages his $45 million birthday pageant, his administration is gutting the VA, slashing Medicaid, and putting food assistance for veterans’ families on the chopping block.

Jason believes our service members deserve better — and that $45 million price tag could instead be used for veterans’ health care, improving living conditions for troops, keeping food on the tables of military families, and preserving vital jobs at the VA.
