TAKE ACTION: Help Get the Beauty Justice Act Through the State Assembly!

Great News: your phone calls helped us get the New York State Beauty Justice Act ([link removed]) passed by the Senate today. Thank you to all who participated!

Let's Get it Through the Assembly!
Now we need your help to get it through the State Assembly. We are asking you to take 2 minutes today to call the Speaker of the New York State Assembly Carl Heastie and tell him how important this bill is to New Yorkers. Please call his office - 518-455-3791 - and ask for his leadership in getting the Assembly to pass the Beauty Justice Act (A.2054A ([link removed]) ) before the session ends on Friday, June 13th.

The following is a sample script (feel free to put it in your own words):

Hello, my name is [Your Name], and I live in [Your Neighborhood]. I’m calling to urge Speaker of the New York State Assembly Carl Heastie to put the Beauty Justice Act on the calendar for a vote before the legislative session ends on June 13th. People of color are disproportionately exposed to toxic chemicals, especially in the personal care products marketed to them. That is why we are hoping you can get this bill on the calendar for a vote, as it would ban some of the most toxic chemicals in these products. We need your leadership to help move this critical bill forward. Thank you for your time!
