Dear John,

The coronavirus crisis has laid bare many inequalities in our society – and the inhumanity of Government policies.

Imagine being too afraid to access healthcare during a pandemic.

Imagine your children being denied free school meals because of where you were born.

Imagine being left on the streets and refused shelter during a public health emergency because of your nationality.

The Government’s racist hostile environment means this is reality for thousands of people. We need change now.

Parliament is currently debating new immigration laws. This means we have a unique chance to end the hostile environment once and for all.

Will you help us make it happen?

Email your MP to replace the hostile environment with a new system based on dignity and respect.

TAKE ACTION

The hostile environment is a raft of policies meant to make life in the UK as unbearable as possible for migrants. The Prime Minister himself was recently shocked to learn of one of its central pillars and how it impacts people.

And yet even in the middle of a pandemic, this toxic immigration policy is taking priority over human life. Even migrant NHS workers who are risking their own lives to treat patients are prevented from receiving that same care unless they pay enormous fees.

If we don’t end the hostile environment now, after Brexit three million more people will suddenly be affected and might find themselves detained or deported.

Next Monday is Windrush Day, a time to celebrate the huge contributions of the Windrush generation. As MPs looks at new immigration laws, they must prove they have learned the lessons of the Windrush Scandal and redesign the system with humanity, dignity and respect at its core.

Use our quick and easy tool to email your MP today. It takes just a couple of minutes.

Thank you for your support.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
