Tensions are rising, and the Trump administration is adding fuel to the fire by unlawfully deploying the National Guard and 700 U.S. Marines to escalate the situation.

Just yesterday, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes joined a national coalition of Attorneys General to oppose Trump’s actions. Attorney General Mayes declared:
"The president’s decision to federalize and deploy California’s National Guard without the consent of California state leaders is unlawful, unconstitutional, and undemocratic." She continued with "The federal administration should be working with local leaders to keep everyone safe, not mobilizing the military against the American people.”
Here in Arizona, we know that protests and community response can escalate just like they have in California. And we’re proud to say that Attorney General Mayes has our back.
By standing with California—our close neighbor and home to so many Arizonans—Mayes showed once again what real leadership looks like. She’s not just protecting Arizona; she’s defending Americans nationwide.
But here’s the urgent reality: Attorney General Mayes is up for re-election in 2026. And after winning her last race by just 280 votes, we know the road ahead will be tough. We cannot afford to let a MAGA loyalist take this crucial office.
