Dear John,
As a Marine Corps veteran and Purple Heart recipient, I’ve faced challenges that tested my resolve. But nothing compares to the responsibility of raising five children with my wife here in South Carolina. We work hard to provide them with the opportunities and freedoms that define the American Dream.
But right now, that dream is under threat by leaders in Washington. If Congress doesn't act to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) will expire at the end of 2025 and lead to significant tax increases for families like mine.
Here’s what’s at stake: - Reduced Child Tax Credit: The current $2,000 credit per child will drop to $1,000, directly impacting families with multiple children.
- Halved Standard Deduction: The standard deduction will decrease, meaning more of our income will be taxable.
- Higher Tax Brackets: Many families will find themselves in higher tax brackets, increasing their overall tax burden.
In South Carolina, the average family could see a federal tax increase of approximately $2,199 if these provisions expire.
The One Big Beautiful Bill Act aims to make the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act provisions permanent, ensuring that families are not penalized for striving toward the American Dream.
Take Action Now.
Join me in urging Congress to pass this critical legislation. Together, we can protect the prosperity and freedom that our families deserve.
For Liberty,
