Team,

When I served in AmeriCorps, I saw firsthand what national service could do — for communities, for young people finding their path, and for our country as a whole.

Trump’s reckless cuts put 85% of AmeriCorps staff on leave. Nearly $400 million in grants were canceled — including almost $2 million for New Mexico alone. That means programs for veterans, disaster relief, tribal communities, and students would have been left in limbo or eliminated entirely.

Thankfully, a judge granted a preliminary injunction just last week that puts those cuts on hold while the multistate lawsuit continues — but the fight to protect AmeriCorps is far from over.

I’m not sitting by while this extremist administration guts one of our most effective service programs.

Trump and his cronies don’t care about fixing problems. All they want to do is create chaos, and they’re doing that by dismantling an agency that’s helped millions of Americans.

These are the Republican priorities, not making life more affordable or helping you get food on the table. We need to vote Republicans out. Can I count on you to help us do it? [[link removed]]

AmeriCorps has a long history of bipartisan support. Because this program works — especially in rural places like New Mexico. And I won’t stop fighting until it’s fully restored and funded again.

If you’ve seen the power of service in your own community, now’s the time to speak up.

Thanks,

Martin
