We wanted to make sure you didn't miss Congresswoman Demings' appearance on "The View" this week, friends.

Our nation is at an overdue turning point – but as the congresswoman pointed out, there is a void of leadership in the White House: Donald Trump and his administration have made no effort whatsoever to address the systemic racism that plagues this country, they're actively stoking the fire.

If President Trump won't lead, he needs to get the hell out of the way. But in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and a nation in turmoil – Donald Trump is focused on reelection and bolstering his grip on power, planning rallies around the country and an in-person GOP national convention in Jacksonville. 

And the RNC is attacking Congresswoman Demings personally, friends, in an effort to stop her from holding the president to account – and she urgently needs you to fight alongside her. That means protecting our Democratic House majority, our only firewall against the president, at all costs: Can we count on you to rush $5 now – or whatever you can spare – to stand up to President Trump, win in Florida and keep the House blue?

Just a few moments ago, Congresswoman Demings wrapped up an appearance on "The View," where she spoke to the urgency of healing racial inequality in America and reforming our institutions that have failed, endangered and killed Black Americans for far too long. 

But Congresswoman Demings also spoke to a central crisis of this moment: a significant void in leadership. President Trump and his attorney general have a direct responsibility to address injustice in America, but they are not capable of doing that. Instead, America is burning, and they are pouring gasoline on the fire. 

As Trump lets the nation burn, we face a real choice: Build a society for all, or maintain a society for a select few? House Democrats are filling the leadership void left by Trump: introducing a sweeping policing reform package – as a first bold step, among many, toward change.

Times like these are a sober reminder that our Democratic House majority is truly the only line of defense against Trump – and serves as the avenue for progress. But with President Trump and the RNC attacking Congresswoman Demings personally, and with election experts like FiveThirtyEight reporting the GOP has a shot at retaking the House, we've got to do everything we can to protect our majority:
