I’m fighting to protect Medicaid.

Justice Democrats

John,

My childhood was not much different than what many families in the Mighty 13th still experience today. Growing up, my mom worked two and three jobs just to put food on our table and keep our lights on — and even then, times were still tough. But public programs meant my family, and many families like ours, didn’t have to struggle alone.

Medicaid, SNAP, and free school lunches kept me healthy and able to learn as a kid. And when I went to college, Pell grants paid for my books, tuition, and more. I wouldn’t be where I am today without these public programs. Hell, I might not even be here at all.

So when I see politicians in Washington standing by as Medicaid funding is slashed, I take it personally. Up to 43% of our community in the Mighty 13th are set to lose their healthcare from this cruel Republican bill. And because I know exactly who gets hurt when those services are taken away: working-class families, kids, seniors, and people struggling to survive.

People just like you. And people just like me.

Let’s be clear: cutting Medicaid, SNAP, and these critical public programs that literally keep our community members alive is a moral failure. It will mean grandmas going without life-saving medication. Kids going hungry. Hospitals closing. Thousands of our families suffering — all because Trump wanted tax breaks for his own family, and his super-rich donors. It’s the largest wealth transfer in history to the top 1%: at our community’s expense.

It’s cruelty and corruption, plain and simple. And it’s being driven by the same selfish set of multimillionaires who only care about the health of their own pocketbooks, not the health of the people they are meant to represent.

In Congress, I’ll fight to restore and expand funding for critical public programs like Medicaid and SNAP. But to get there, I need your help.

Will you chip in today to my campaign and Justice Democrats to help us build a government that takes care of its people instead of ignoring those most in need?

This fight is personal for me. And I will not stop until every person has the care and dignity they deserve.
