People often ask how a second-generation firefighter ended up a Democrat. The truth is simple: I watched Republicans try to destroy everything working people like my family had earned, and I watched Democrats fight to protect us.

It started with the 1994 Orange County bankruptcy, when Republicans tried to gut collective bargaining rights, pensions, and healthcare for public workers like my dad and me. And now, all these years later, nothing has changed.

Just a few weeks ago, Young Kim voted for a bill that would slash billions from Medicaid — ripping healthcare away from millions of working families — all while protecting tax breaks for billionaires and corporate donors. That’s the choice we face: more of Young Kim’s corporate giveaways, or true leadership grounded in public service and real-world experience.

I don’t have billionaire donors propping up my campaign. I’m running a grassroots race, fueled by people like you who know we deserve better representation.
