** What’s new at PAWS
------------------------------------------------------------

PAWS Chicago’s Giving Day is officially underway! From now through June 26, animal lovers across Chicago and beyond are uniting to save lives and recommit to our shared vision. It’s a moment of celebration, compassion, and action. It’s a time to celebrate how far we’ve come — and commit ourselves to the work that still lies ahead to build a No Kill Chicago.

And there’s more good news: Thanks to our generous friends at My Virtuous Quest, every donation made now through June 26 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $35,000! That means your support will go twice as far to help homeless pets who need you right now.

Pets like Bosco, whose extraordinary story is an example of why Giving Day is so important. Read Bosco’s story ([link removed]) .

** You saved Angelica, Andre, and Alma
------------------------------------------------------------

Angelica, Andre, and Alma were critically ill, with medical needs beyond what Chicago Animal Care and Control could provide. PAWS Chicago rushed to their rescue and gave them a second chance at life. Thanks to expert medical care and the warmth of a loving foster home, these once-fragile kittens are now healthy, playful, and full of purrs.

** I went home!
------------------------------------------------------------

When her owner could no longer care for her, Natasha returned to PAWS and re-began the journey to finding a home. She was shelter-shy, but over the next year and a half, our incredible community of fosters stepped up to care for her until, finally, foster Jenee Gaskin couldn't let go.

** Volunteer Spotlight
------------------------------------------------------------

“Overall, I think Disney is totally wrong about being the ‘happiest place on earth.’ PAWS is my happy place,” says PAWS Volunteer of the Month, Jill Newman. “How can you go wrong when you are with other animal-loving people volunteering their time?”

** Foster: Make room to save lives
------------------------------------------------------------

In May, Chicago Animal Care & Control (CACC) took in an average of 56 pets per day. Escalating costs are making it hard for people to keep their furry family members, and surrenders are surging.

With summer adoption events on the horizon, PAWS Chicago has a unique opportunity to help—but our capacity depends on fosters. The more fosters who step up right now, the more pets we can save from potential euthanasia and get into homes.
