John, it's Congressman Hank Johnson, and at the U.S. Supreme Court, June is the end of session month—when the Court releases decisions on some of the most important cases of the term before summer recess.
As a senior member of the House Judiciary Committee, ranking member of its Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, Artificial Intelligence, and the Internet, and career-long court reform advocate, I've got my eye on a few pivotal cases: ⤵️ |
Some decisions will determine the balance of power in the House of Representatives in the coming years, while others could vastly expand presidential power, deny people lifesaving care, and change the way we exercise our First Amendment rights.
The bottom line is that these decisions will be life changing for Americans, and that's why it's so important that we have justices who are accountable to the people.
I fight to make that happen every day in Congress—that's why I just reintroduced the TERM Act to establish term limits for Supreme Court justices, regularize appointment processes, and ensure that the highest court in the land is protected from the corruption and lack of accountability that is fostered by lifetime tenure.
Because right now, the federal courts are the last line of defense against a lawless, cruel and corrupt President enabled by a MAGA rubber stamp Congress, and we must make sure our federal courts are protected from assault by those who would subvert the Constitution and take away the freedoms and liberties it guarantees to We The People.
Republicans are already attacking me for my commitment to preserve our right to an independent and fair judiciary, and the money to campaign against me in 2026 is sure to follow. John, would you chip in to support my work in Congress today?
