Statewide Survey: Californians and Their Government

KEY FINDINGS:
~ A majority of Californians support downsizing the federal government; around half support cutting foreign aid.
~ Solid majorities oppose new tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China; a majority oppose cutting environmental regulations on oil and gas drilling.
~ One in three or fewer approve of the president, Congress, and the Supreme Court.

The PPIC Statewide Survey delivers objective, advocacy-free information on the perceptions, opinions, and public policy preferences of California residents. PPIC’s survey team invites input, comments, and suggestions from policy and public opinion experts and from its own advisory committee, but survey methods, questions, and content are determined solely by the survey team.
