Dear Friend,
World Refugee Day is this Saturday. Held every year on June 20th, it’s a day to honor the resilience and determination of refugees worldwide. This year, World Refugee Day is especially important.
The COVID-19 pandemic has hit refugees, asylum-seekers, and other immigrants especially hard. U.S. borders are closed, forcing people to wait even longer in crowded refugee camps where their risk of contracting the virus is increased by close quarters and inadequate sanitation. Refugees already in the U.S. are experiencing huge job losses and many are not eligible for unemployment or other government benefits. Vulnerable children fleeing on their own are being turned away at the border and placed at great risk of harm.
But you can help. In honor of World Refugee Day, we ask you to make a generous donation to USCRI.
