Demand Congress punish Trump for his outrageous corruption!

Trump attends "Les Misérables" at the Kennedy Center, drawing boos and cheers

Donald Trump's take over of the Kennedy Center hit a rocky start as his entrance for last night's performance of "Les Misérables" was met with a chorus of boos from angry attendees (quickly met with cheers and chants of "USA" from the MAGA zealots in the crowd). Several of the most prominent cast members also planned to boycott the show. While this may not seem like the biggest deal in the world, consider that this was supposed to be a crowning moment for the thin-skinned authoritarian, who took over the Kennedy Center to specifically create himself the ultimate safe space where he could be cheered while enjoying the musicals that he loves so much. And what did he get? Boos and boycotts. At this point, we all know Donald well enough to know that those boos and that boycott will stick in his craw much deeper than the adulation from the fans he's so contemptuous of; a reminder that, no matter how hard he tries, Trump cannot force reality and this country to bend to his will.

VIDEO OF THE DAY: California announces new legal action against Trump

Brian Tyler Cohen spoke with California Attorney General Rob Bonta about the state's ongoing legal efforts to halt Donald Trump's egregious abuse of power and unconstitutional deployment of 4,000 National Guard troops and 700 Marines to quash constitutionally protected protests in Los Angeles.

Take Action: Demand Trump stop ICE raids and military escalation against protesters!

Trump team busted in heinous plot against drinking water

EDF Action: The chemical lobby and their corrupt allies in the Trump administration are plotting to weaken the Toxic Substances Control Act, which has helped protect families, schools, and communities across the U.S. from dangerous chemicals that are in our everyday products and are responsible for countless cases of cancer. EDF Action is organizing the public to fight back against this attack on our health — will you add your name to let Congress know we will NOT stand for big business dumping chemicals in our drinking water?

LAPD chief denies Trump's claim that police asked for National Guard help: "We're nowhere near" that
The frickin' chief of police of Los Angeles flatly and publicly rejected Donald Trump's bullshit claim that his force asked the federal government to send in thousands of National Guard troops to quash immigrant-crackdown protests in the downtown area. The revelation, of course, is not surprising. What is confounding, however, is the stranglehold MAGA and its recidivist cult leader have on both cops and the "Back the Blue!" crowd. You'd think constantly undermining, lying about, and flat-out abandoning police (remember Jan. 6?) would have some measure of consequence. Alas, a cult's a cult.

Trump says FEMA to be wound down after hurricane season
The MAGA cult leader told reporters he would soon be winding down the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at the end of hurricane season later this year, warned states would receive less federal aid in the future to respond to natural disasters, and claimed recovery funds would be doled out directly by his administration going forward. "We’re going to give it out directly. It’ll be from the president’s office. We’ll have somebody here, could be Homeland Security," the president said. Okay, a couple things. 1) Hurricane season isn't a TV show and this year isn't some sort of series finale. Funny thing about hurricanes: they happen every year, and they will only get worse as climate change intensifies. 2) Donald Trump is — once again — publicly announcing his intentions to fuck over his 👏 own 👏 constituents 👏 in hurricane-prone red states like Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, and the Carolinas by withholding critical federal funds for disaster recovery. 3) The White House already "gives out" FEMA funds directly, via Homeland Security. Real quick: When a natural disaster strikes, the impacted state's governor formally asks the sitting president for FEMA to get involved. The president ostensibly approves (or denies) the request, and the federal government kicks into high gear (or turns it back on its own people). Just because our aggressively incurious wannabe dictator doesn't understand how the federal government currently works doesn't mean his new plan is "new" or a fucking plan at all. But gutting a 20,000-strong critical federal agency with a $30 billion annual budget is catastrophically stupid, and Trump's willful ignorance will result in more suffering and lost lives. It is so good to be great again.

Take Action: Tell Trump: Do not hold $45 million military parade for yourself!

National Zoo bosses hunt bad "ideology" on Trump’s orders

On super serious orders from America's Dear Leader™, the Smithsonian is now launching a review of — checks notes — the National Zoo and its museums in order to uh, root out "bad ideology," which begs the question...does Trump think "Animal Farm" was real? Is there a leftist conspiracy being concocted by the canaries? Sedition among the salamanders? HERESY AMONG THE HIPPOS? When will it stop?

Troops and marines deeply troubled by LA deployment: "Morale is not great"
Gee, wonder why service members in the United States armed forces might be more than a little troubled by Donald's deeply disturbing Los Angeles deployment. Perhaps they're not entirely on board with being used as pawns in the wannabe dictator's increasingly authoritarian aggression towards their fellow Americans? You think it might have something to do with that pesky oath they all took to serve and protect the United States?

Progressives launch mass movement to ruin Trump's parade

No Kings: Donald Trump’s birthday is coming up on June 14th, and to celebrate, he’s indulging his most authoritarian impulses in an obscenely expensive waste of public money. He’s planning a military parade that is estimated to cost at least $45 million in taxpayer funds and will include thousands of troops, warplanes, tanks, horses, mules, parachuters, musical performances, celebrities, and athletes — all to massage his own ego and let him feel like a dictator or a king. That’s why the No Kings movement is working overtime to spark a mass protest movement around the country and rain on Trump’s parade! Click here to find a protest near you!

Walmart heiress’ anti-Trump ad ignites huge MAGA meltdown
Folks, when Donald Trump and the GOP lose the frickin' Waltons you know they've truly lost the plot.

GOP senators freak out when asked about Trump's military parade costing $45 million
They snapped. They stared off into space. They zipped into Senate elevators and smiled as the doors closed with them safely inside. This is how nearly a dozen Senate Republicans reacted Wednesday when asked the simplest question: Do you plan to attend President Donald Trump’s military parade in DC on Saturday, and are you comfortable with its estimated $45 million price tag?

Rand Paul says "incredibly petty" White House rescinded picnic invite over budget bill opposition
Tsk, tsk. Looks like Rand, the upper chamber's token Libertarian, won't be rubbing shoulders with colleagues or suckin' on chili dogs with MAGA cult members at this year's White House congressional picnic after all, on account of his opposition to Donald's "big, beautiful bill," a massive, deficit-exploding giveaway to the megawealthy. A clearly miffed Paul called his rescinded invitation "incredibly petty," which it most certainly is. Hey, Rand. If you're looking for something to do this weekend, might we suggest attending a "No Kings" march? You can RSVP here! We promise to play (mostly) nice.

GOP lawmaker says some jobs shouldn't have livable wages
Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Rep. Jesse Topper went full mask-off during a discussion on raising Pennsylvania's minimum wage, which is still a pitiful $7.25, and said that "some jobs weren't meant to have a livable wage" — which is an argument just a skip, hop, and a whip away from "actually, forced labor is entirely acceptable." Anything to keep the money flowing to the 1%! Thankfully, this twisted logic was not successful in convincing his colleagues, who voted to raise the state minimum wage to $15 in big counties and $12 in smaller counties.
