John,

Under the bright blue waves of the ocean, dolphins play and whales sing. Turtles glide and crabs scuttle.

These ocean creatures are happy and safe for now. But the Interior Department is considering expanding offshore drilling to new parts of our oceans -- and they're only accepting public input until June 16.[1]

Tell the Department of Interior: Don't expand offshore drilling.

Opening the entire ocean to oil and gas leasing is unnecessary and dangerous for our coastlines.

The Atlantic, the Pacific, all of Florida and parts of the Arctic are currently off limits to offshore oil drilling. But the Department of Interior could require oil leasing in these precious parts of the ocean, which could bring oil drilling to fragile ecosystems off the coasts.

Sensitive marine life should be protected, from the diverse coral reefs of Florida to the marine mammal hotspots in the Northern Bering Sea. Oil exploration in these important habitats could harm marine life, and a potential oil spill could be devastating.

This could be a disaster for our oceans.

Tell the Interior Department to protect our oceans from oil drilling.

When we drill, we spill.

Oil leaks are common where offshore drilling is currently allowed. Just this April, 30,000 gallons of oil spilled into the Gulf.[2] And we'll always remember the devastating impact of the Deepwater Horizon spill, which killed thousands of whales, turtles and dolphins.[3]

Drilling is already threatening ocean habitat -- we shouldn't put our country's entire coastline at risk of the consequences of offshore drilling.

We can't allow offshore drilling in every part of our oceans. Add your name to oppose oil leasing off the coasts.
