John, the devastating reconciliation bill racing through the Senate contains disastrous provisions for immigrant care and domestic workers and their families.
It will empower law enforcement strategies designed not to safeguard our communities, but terrorize them – detaining long-standing neighbors, jailing loved ones, and removing nutrition assistance and healthcare from the children of immigrants , even when those children are citizens.
If this bill passes it would give hundreds of millions to immigration authorities to replicate last weekend’s heavily-armed raids in Los Angeles in communities across the country, creating heartbreaking fear and instability for immigrant care and domestic workers.
The Senate is racing to finish this bill and vote THIS MONTH , giving us just days to show massive opposition across the country.
Can you urgently sign the petition to send a clear message to the Senate that it must vote NO on this anti-immigrant, anti-family reconciliation bill? [[link removed]]

In addition to slashing Medicaid funding by more than $800 billion, the House-passed reconciliation bill would deny 4.5 million U.S. citizen or legal resident children access to the Child Tax Credit if their parents lack a Social Security number. And, it will take away access to the Affordable Care Act and SNAP benefits from legally present immigrants – including survivors of violence and refugees.
That’s not even all of it. The bill will make it harder for unaccompanied migrant children to reunite with family by imposing unaffordable fees, all while pouring billions into cruel detention and deportation programs.
It allocates over $150 billion – with virtually no accountability – to drastically expand immigration enforcement. Families seeking safety will instead face indefinite detention or forced separation at unprecedented rates.
But here’s the thing: this bill is NOT a done deal and Senators on both sides of the aisle have expressed concern about how it will harm millions of vulnerable Americans.
Together, our voices can compel lawmakers to choose compassion over cruelty, but with the Senate racing to vote as soon as possible, our time to stop this dangerous legislation is running out.
Together, let’s overwhelm the Senate with calls to use our public dollars to support hard-working families, not fuel fear and family separation. Will you add your name now? [[link removed]]

The majority of domestic workers sit at the center of some of our nation’s most decisive issues because of who they are and what they do: they are women – mostly women of color, immigrants, mothers, and low-wage workers. They are impacted by almost every policy affecting the future of our economy, democracy and country.
Domestic workers can lead us toward a new, inclusive vision for the future for all of us -- and your grassroots support is the fuel that can get us there.
