Hi John,

For those of you who don't know me — I'm Luke, Jamaal's campaign manager.

I'm personally writing to you today to make a case for why your financial contribution to our campaign, right now, is so important.

Because while we've recently had record fundraising and strong momentum recently, I'm all too familiar with what can happen if we don't keep up our fight until the very end.

Before I share my story, will you chip in $5 to our campaign and fund our fight to take back New York's 16th District in these last 5 days before the primary? Every single dollar we raise will go directly towards reaching out to voters and Get-Out-The-Vote efforts:

In 2019, I was the campaign manager for Tiffany Cabán's historic race for Queens District Attorney.

Even though Tiffany's race was in a different borough and for a different seat, there are a lot of similarities between Jamaal's and Tiffany's races.

Like Jamaal, Tiffany is a working people's champion who ran on a progressive platform. She was endorsed by some of the same people who endorsed Jamaal, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Bernie Sanders, and Elizabeth Warren. She also took on the political establishment's favorite candidate, who was backed by members of the Democratic establishment, like Governor Andrew Cuomo.

The momentum for Tiffany's campaign was huge leading into our primary in late June, and a win looked very likely — so much so that we even declared victory on Election Night.

But just a week later, after all the votes were counted, we were forced to concede. Tiffany had lost by just 55 votes, all from mail-in ballots — and ultimately, our efforts were not enough to secure a progressive in this important seat.

I'm sharing this story with you because I'm worried about history repeating itself here, John.

While this team has recently been crushing it with fundraising, polls, and getting out the vote — we can't forget that this is an extremely competitive primary and that our opponent will stop at nothing to make sure he can keep his seat.

Eliot Engel and his team of dark money, special interests, and political establishment groups have spent over $1.2 million thus far to roll out attack ads, negative campaign literature, and voter outreach.

Eliot Engel and the political establishment are scared. This campaign is a legitimate threat to his seat, but we can't let up, even for one second. We have a real shot at victory — we just need to keep up our momentum for five more days.

The results of this race will likely come down to just a handful of votes — and we need to be ready to fight for every last one. That's why I'm asking for your financial support today, so we can reach out to every undecided voter in our district before they have a chance to cast their ballot. Will you chip in?
