Governor Gordon Appoints Jacqueline K. Brown Circuit Court Judge for the Eighth Judicial District CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Governor Mark Gordon has appointed Jacqueline K. Brown to be a Circuit Court Judge for the Eighth Judicial District serving Converse, Goshen, Niobrara, and Platte counties. Brown’s appointment fills the vacancy left by the appointment of Judge Nate Hibben as District Court Judge for the First Judicial District. Brown has served as the Deputy City Attorney in the criminal division of the City of Casper’s Attorney’s Office since 2021. She previously worked as an attorney in private practice focusing on family law, juvenile law, criminal law, real estate, and mediation. Brown also has served as Deputy County and Prosecuting Attorney in Campbell County. Brown is originally from Detroit, Michigan, and earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Madonna University and graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University, School of Law. “Once again, the Judicial Nominating Commission provided me with three superlative candidates,” Governor Gordon said. “Ms. Brown is well-known for her drive and excellence in family law, especially in the capacity of guardian ad litem, and will bring her exceptional compassion and diligence to the Eighth District.” “I would like to thank God and Governor Gordon for this appointment. Deputy City Attorney Brown’s judicial appointment is effective July 9, 2025.
