June 2020

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT UPDATES:

  • On June 1, ADL signed on to the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights Letter on federal policing priorities.   
  • On June 1, ADL national and 20 regional offices signed on to the Jewish Council for Public Affairs Joint Statement of Solidarity pledging to end systemic racism in law enforcement and work for a just society.   
  • On June 2, George Selim ADL's SVP for Programs submitted testimony to the Presidential Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice.
  • On June 12, Eileen Hershenov ADL's SVP for Policy testified at the Congressional Black Jewish Caucus roundtable with representatives from the caucus and leaders from Black and Jewish organizations, addressing systemic racism in the United States.
  • On June 15, ADL welcomed the Supreme Court win for the LGBTQ community in securing employment rights under Title VII. ADL filed a brief in this case.
