Hi Friend,
Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, and especially over the past few weeks, many of us have felt what the stress of an emergency at home is like. Everyday tasks are stressful, emotions are running high, and we have come to realize we can't take our health care and health professionals for granted. It's also become clear that communities of color have been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 -- and we have to do more to provide health care equitably.
Our teams are working tirelessly to ensure that doctors and nurses are equipped to provide lifesaving care to those who need it most. Thanks to your support, we've sent delivery after delivery of equipment and protective gear from Chicago to Indonesia. We've trained medical volunteers and local providers online and in person. This work will continue to save lives in the most vulnerable communities.
But with the beginning of this month came the start of hurricane season. And with emergency management and hospitals already overwhelmed with the pandemic and current events, a natural disaster or other health crisis will bring even greater challenges than they did just a year ago. We must work even harder and show up even stronger, so that when disasters happen, we can help as many people as possible.
This is the first time we've ever faced a situation like this, and we need all the support we can to get care to children and families in vulnerable communities. Your gift today will support our global work at this critical moment. And when you give now, your donation will be DOUBLED to provide 2X the lifesaving help to children and families in need.
