The Texas Tribune is reporting that Donald Trump is pressuring Texas Republicans to redraw our state’s congressional maps ahead of the 2026 midterms to favor Republicans.

According to the Trib , Trump wants to “draw up new maps that would give Republicans a better chance to flip seats currently held by Democrats.”

Trump and Republicans are so worried about getting wiped out in the 2026 midterms, they want to rig Texas’s maps to stay in power. They can't defend their own extreme, destructive agenda – so they want to block Texas voters from holding them accountable.

For far too long, Texas has been ground zero for Republicans’ most extreme voter suppression tactics. Now, Donald Trump wants to rig Texas’s congressional maps to keep his party in power and prevent us from putting a check on his extreme, chaotic agenda.
