Social media videos from the Memorial Day mass shooting in Fairmount Park captured the “sound of war,” in the words of Philadelphia Police Commissioner Kevin Bethel.
The shooters are suspected of having used guns modified with Glock switches, devices that convert firearms into machine guns capable of inflicting mass carnage at high speed. Two young people were killed and nine others were wounded in the attack.
Philadelphia police have already recovered at least 57 guns equipped with switches this year, according to Axios. Friend, these homemade machine guns have no place in our neighborhoods.
