Hi there,

Swing Left's affiliate [Vote Forward]([link removed]) has released the results of its 2024 voter engagement campaigns—and announced an exciting multi-year program to test new, innovative voter contact tactics.

We wanted to make sure you heard about it because so many Swing Left volunteers wrote letters with Vote Forward last cycle. In fact, Vote Forward ran over 50 individual letter campaigns in 2024 with the help of over 78,000 volunteers who wrote 9.75 million letters. Behind the scenes, every campaign was structured as a randomized controlled trial so that Vote Forward could scientifically measure that impact on voter turnout after the election.

[Overall, the results show that letter writing still is an effective way to drive voter turnout, but we also need to be increasingly strategic in how and when we use it, and who we’re trying to reach.]([link removed])

What’s more, the old voter mobilization playbook isn’t working like it used to in our new political, media, and cultural landscape. We need to keep innovating on new tactics beyond letter writing to effectively reach voters.

[You can read more about that in a new piece in The Atlantic on how Vote Forward is pushing this important conversation forward by leading with transparency.]([link removed])

These 2024 results show that if we want to make a real impact in 2026 and 2028, we can’t just copy and paste what we did in 2020. This moment demands creativity. It’s time to get bolder and place big bets—and that’s exactly where Vote Forward is headed.

Vote Forward has an ambitious research and innovation agenda to find new, effective tactics between now and 2028, and it starts now with a [new campaign to contact voters in the upcoming Pennsylvania Supreme Court election.]([link removed])

There are two ways you can get involved right now:

📝📬 Sign up to write letters. Starting this week, Vote Forward volunteers can adopt Pennsylvania voters, write letters, store them somewhere safe, and mail letters during the mail window of September 2nd through October 28, 2025. [Get started today.]([link removed])

☎️ Join the Voter Support Team. To support this new tactic, Vote Forward needs to grow their Voter Support Team, who will be specially trained to receive calls from the voters who receive our letters and provide non-partisan voting information and share their perspective on why voting matters. [You can apply HERE to join the call team.]([link removed])

With gratitude,

– The Swing Left Team
