Vote expected on 17/18th June for pro-abortion amendments to Westminster Bill

Please pray and contact your MP to stop extreme abortion legislation from passing in Westminster.

On 17th and 18th June, Members of Parliament are expected to vote on amendments that would decriminalise abortion entirely in England and Wales — removing the final legal protections for unborn children.

Two dangerous amendments have been put forward by pro-abortion MPs Stella Creasy and Tonia Antoniazzi, entitled NC20 and NC1. News reports this week are stating that abortion providers are opposed to amendment NC20, but support amendment NC1.

But while the abortion providers and the pro-abortion MPs squabble over the amendments, the fact remains they all want to remove the only remaining protection for babies in the womb. The result of either amendment will be the same: even more unborn babies killed.

Even though around 600 unborn babies are killed every day, abortion is still actually a criminal offence. 
Abortions are regulated under the 1967 Abortion Act. The 1967 Acts states, "...a person shall not be guilty of an offence ...when a pregnancy is terminated by a registered medical practitioner" and has the approval of two registered medical practitioners.

If an unborn baby is killed outside the regulations of the 1967 Abortion Act, then it is a criminal offence under the Offences Against the Persons Act and the Infant Life Preservation Act. The most common convictions under these laws are when an assailant or abusive partner attacks a pregnant woman resulting in the death of her baby.

These amendments being put forward in Westminster aim to remove this last remaining limited protection that unborn babies have.

Either of these amendments will lead to the most extreme liberalisation of the law since the 1967 Abortion Act. They will allow abortion right up to the moment of birth, and for any reason. They will also legalise "sex selection" abortions - killing a baby just because she is a girl.

It is vital that you contact your MP and urge them to stand up for the right to life of babies in the womb, by voting against these pro-abortion amendments.
 
And above all, please pray these evil amendments are defeated. Ask God to touch the hearts of our politicians and open their eyes to the humanity of the unborn child.
