Hey,
Check out this old pic. What do you see?

Beneath that bowl cut, there's a kid who had no idea what life had in store for him. His world revolved around Legos and backyard adventures.
Growing up in a working-class family, I learned early on about the importance of hard work and perseverance. Those childhood days taught me the invaluable lesson of never giving up, even when times were tough.
Like so many American families, mine faced financial struggles as I grew up. I took on jobs — from newspaper deliveries to construction to working at Arby's — to contribute where I could. After high school, I enlisted in the National Guard to help pay for college.
Then, the whole world shifted on September 11, 2001. That day, I became driven by a call to serve. I became a paratrooper and then an Army Ranger, committed to defending our nation's values through tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Returning home, my mission to serve continued. I went to law school and offered pro bono legal aid for veterans easing back into civilian life.
But then, Donald Trump became president, and his extremism threatened our health care, vilified immigrants, and shook the very foundations of our democracy. I couldn’t sit back and watch as the values I fought overseas to defend were destroyed, so I decided to run for Congress.
In 2018, Coloradans shared my vision, electing me as the first Democrat to represent Colorado’s 6th District. It has been the honor of my life to serve my community in this way, and while it's never easy, it's worth the fight.

Today, our democracy is being threatened by Donald Trump and his allies yet again. Costs are rising for working families, the President’s policies abroad are making us less safe at home, and immigrants across the country are living in fear. But I’m fighting back.
That’s why I’m counting on your support today. Can you chip in $10 (or any amount) right now to help fuel my fight and stand up to extremism nationwide?
