Donald Trump flubs dig at Joe Biden's intelligence during nakedly political Fort Bragg speech

During a meandering speech at Fort Bragg yesterday, the MAGA cult leader took a pathetic swing at his predecessor's intelligence and, well, he did not connect. "I've known this guy for a long time. He was never the sharpest bulb," Donald said. To be fair, the 78-year-old con man has almost certainly never changed a light bulb in his life. Also, he's definitely never stepped foot in a shed. In addition to trashing Biden in a nakedly political speech before thousands of Army troops, the wannabe dictator weaved his way through lie after lie, promoting easily debunked conspiracy theories about California's Democratic leaders and protesters in Los Angeles pushing back against his administration's fascistic immigration crackdown.

LA police swiftly enforce downtown curfew as protests against Trump’s immigration crackdown continue
Los Angeles police swiftly enforced a downtown curfew, making arrests moments after it took effect, while deploying officers on horseback and using crowd control projectiles to break up a group of hundreds demonstrating against Donald Trump’s aggressive immigration crackdown. Members of the National Guard stood watch behind plastic shields, but did not appear to participate in the arrests Tuesday night. Hours later, many of the protesters had dispersed, although sporadic confrontations continued that were much smaller than in previous nights. Officials said the curfew was necessary to stop vandalism and theft by agitators looking to cause trouble. The demonstrations have been mostly concentrated downtown, and the curfew covers a 1-square-mile (2.5-square-kilometer) section that includes an area where protests have occurred since Friday in the sprawling city of 4 million. The city of Los Angeles encompasses roughly 500 square miles (1,295 square kilometers).

Take Action: Demand Trump stop ICE raids and military escalation against protestors!

Major US climate website likely to be shut down after almost all staff fired
In perhaps the least surprising news of the day, the Trump regime is officially shuttering climate.gov after almost all of the agency's staff were fired. The gateway website for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)’s Climate Program Office will imminently no longer publish new content, according to multiple former staff responsible for the site’s content whose contracts were recently terminated. Rebecca Lindsey, the website’s former program manager, said the content for climate.gov was created and maintained by a contracted staff of about 10, with additional contributions from NOAA scientists, and its editorial content was specifically designed to be politically neutral and faithful to the current state of the sciences. Nonetheless, all of those staff have now been dismissed, she said. Who needs reliable climate science or any kind of long-term plan to combat climate change when we're aggressively and eagerly setting the world on fire every damn day?

Mike Johnson says Gavin Newsom should be "tarred and feathered"

With one breath the House Speaker decried the violence in Los Angeles — which news media accounts agree was instigated by law enforcement — and in the next breath cheerfully called for violence against a Democratic leader for allegedly obstructing ICE's inhumane deportation raids. Just like Jesus would have done.

ABC News won't renew Terry Moran contract after Trump, Miller "world-class" haters social media post
ABC News is firing star national correspondent Terry Moran — who has worked at the network for 28 years — over a social media post in which he called President Donald Trump and White House advisor Stephen Miller “world-class” haters. "We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post — which was a clear violation of ABC News policies — we have made the decision to not renew," an ABC News spokesperson said in a statement to CNBC on Tuesday. Moran’s ouster from ABC News comes seven months after ABC agreed to pay $15 million in legal settlement with Trump over allegedly defamatory comments made about him by ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos related to a civil trial where the MAGA cult leader was found liable for sexually abusing the writer E. Jean Carroll.

Trump's disastrous budget bill sends our electric bills into the stratosphere

Evergreen Action: Big Oil's cronies in the House have passed a catastrophic budget bill that guts clean energy and gives huge handouts to greedy fossil fuel companies and the ultrawealthy, all at the expense of the the rest of us — on top of killing jobs, raising prices, kicking millions of people off their healthcare, and putting countless Americans at risk of food insecurity. We need to let the Senate know that we will not stand for this flagrant attack on our climate, our economy, and the well-being of our families. Click here to contact your senator now and make your voice heard!

John Fetterman rips his own Democratic Party over the LA protests: "We lose the moral high ground"
Pennsylvania Senator John Fetterman continued his deeply disappointing lurch to the right when he castigated Democrats for "refus[ing] to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement." This is how GOP narratives gain legs, because of course Democrats have been issuing statement after statement condemning acts of violence and property destruction in Los Angeles — but Fetterman's words falsely imply they are missing in action. The former progressive whose turn to conservatism began when he suffered brain damage from a stroke (his words), was also seen having lunch with Trump consigliere Steve Bannon and the editor of neo-Nazi shitrag Breitbart at a popular MAGA restaurant in DC... which is not super encouraging.

Trump vows he'll restore all Confederate names to military bases
Ya know, for a political party that decries participation trophies and trips over itself trying to prove its patriotic, these-colors-don't-run bona fides, these Republican goons sure can't seem to quit their torrid infatuation with the Confederacy, which, it apparently bears repeating, was a treasonous band of secessionists who literally tried to destroy the United States of America so they could keep their slaves. Is this what Tom Petty meant when he sang, "Baby, even the losers get lucky sometimes?"
