Dear John, I’m honoured to be re-elected by the people of Kildonan–St. Paul to be your voice in Ottawa—and I’m excited to share that Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre has named me Shadow Minister for Industry. Industry is the primary economic file in our Shadow Cabinet. I’ll be focused on holding the Liberals accountable for their poor economic record and pushing for common sense Conservative reforms - like cutting red tape and helping Canadian businesses and workers succeed. It was a privilege to serve as Shadow Minister for Public Safety for the past 3 years. I was proud to lead the call for urgent bail reform as violent crime rose under soft-on-crime Liberal policies. To Canada’s firearm community: I was proud to fight for you against the Liberals’ deeply flawed and divisive gun confiscation regime that unfairly targets hunters and sport shooters while failing to reduce crime or stop repeat violent offenders. While I will no longer be leading these efforts, I will continue to fight for you and for gun owners across Canada. <[link removed]> In the House of Commons, I recently called out the Prime Minister for breaking his promise to steelworkers. He pledged dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs on U.S. steel – but quietly dropped them. Now Donald Trump is doubling them. Worse, the carbon tax is still hitting Canadian steel, driving up costs and threatening jobs. The Prime Minister even suggested Canadians don’t use much steel - ignoring its role in everything from fridges to cars to strollers.
