Team, let’s get into all things Ohio:

First: Ohio Republicans sabotaged last year’s ballot initiative to create an independent redistricting commission by altering draft language and running a wildly misleading set of ads against it.

Then: The ballot initiative did not pass, allowing Ohio Republicans to continue holding the reins around redistricting and solidifying their grip on power.

Now: Ohio lawmakers are preparing to redraw the congressional map this year under the exact same system that Republicans exploited in order to avoid having to enact a fair map.

Team, the NDRC is working tirelessly to prevent Ohio Republicans from abusing the map-redrawing process for anti-democracy power grabs. But we need the support of grassroots donors like you.

Ohio conservatives have a history of blatantly disregarding their citizens. A decade ago, voters passed a constitutional amendment that created a new redistricting process, but state lawmakers have kept on pursuing extreme gerrymanders. Their skewed legislative and congressional maps have been struck down by the state courts SEVEN TIMES this decade.

Ahead of the midterm elections, Republicans in Ohio are likely planning to once again abuse their power. Here’s what we’re looking at:

* Ohio Republicans have consistently tried to pack the state’s Democratic voters into a small number of districts.
* They have the opportunity to pick up not one, not two, but three congressional seats, depending on how extreme the gerrymander.
* That means this doesn’t just affect Ohio — any district they gerrymander in their favor gets Republicans one seat closer to holding the House majority.

As Ohio Republicans lead the map redrawing process ahead of 2026, we know what they’re capable of. It’s on us to expose and fight back against their efforts to manipulate maps to hold on to power.

We’re gearing up for this congressional map redraw in Ohio — donate now to make sure we’ll be ready for the fight. [[link removed]]
