Trump and his MAGA allies are calling it the “One Big Beautiful Bill.” But there’s nothing beautiful about a plan that would rip away healthcare and nutrition assistance from millions of Americans to pay for massive tax breaks to billionaires.

This bill just squeaked through the House by one vote. Now it’s heading to the Senate — and if it becomes law, it could cause at least 51,000 more preventable deaths annually.

Public health experts at Yale and the University of Pennsylvania analyzed the “Big Beautiful Bill” and determined that its cuts would cause:

• Millions nationwide will lose access to healthcare coverage through Medicaid.
• Prescription drug help for low-income seniors will vanish.
• Nursing homes and medical facilities will lack equipment and be even more short staffed than they already are.
• Millions will lose nutrition assistance and be unable to afford food.
• Early intervention education programs for students in poverty will be eliminated

These aren’t just numbers in a spreadsheet or line items in a budget. Republicans’ choice here will impact real people’s lives — neighbors, seniors, kids, and disabled people who rely on them.
