Team, the attacks just keep coming.
My election is next year, but the Republicans are already attacking me. President Trump won my district by 19,000 votes and now they think they can beat me with false commercials.
The people behind these attacks don’t care about the cost of living and access to healthcare–they are solely focused on defeating me because I’m one of just 13 House Democrats in the country to represent a district that President Trump also won.
These attacks embody everything that’s wrong with our politics. But instead of dwelling on what our politics are, here’s what they could be: people of good faith–Democrats, Republicans, and Independents–working together to find common ground. Fixing our immigration system. Making healthcare more affordable. Lowering the cost of living, so everyone can get a good job, buy a house, educate their kids, and retire with dignity. That’s what I’m fighting for every day in Congress, but far-right extremists are determined to replace me.
