It's Deborah.
While the media is consumed by the very public divorce between Donald Trump and Elon Musk, I want to talk about something that actually matters:
Republican Bill Would Limit Judges' Contempt Power
Democrats have argued that House Republicans' measure would rob courts of their power by stripping away any consequences for officials who ignore judges' rulings.
House Republicans recently passed a domestic policy bill that would limit judges’ ability to hold people in contempt — making it harder for the courts to hold Trump accountable.
Let me be clear: This is an attack on one of the last remaining checks on Trump’s abuse of power. This is about giving Trump the power to defy court orders without consequences.
So while two narcissistic billionaires have a reality TV feud on social media, Republicans are quietly working to rig the system for one of them — at the expense of democracy itself.
This is a five-alarm fire for the rule of law. We’re fighting to flip the House blue and hold NC-02, and hitting our mid-month fundraising goal of $5,000 is absolutely critical. Will you chip in $10 to help us fight back and defend our democracy? >> [link removed]
In this fight together,
Deborah

In 2020, Deborah became the first Democrat in over a decade to be elected to represent North Carolina’s 2nd Congressional district. In her first term, eleven pieces of legislation she introduced were signed into law. These measures increased funding for sexual assault nurse examiners, enhanced judicial ethics and transparency, and bolstered North Carolina’s offshore wind energy potential. Deborah needs your support to continue the fight for fairness, equality, and progress. Let’s do this together.
