John --
As a public servant, I've spent my entire career giving voice to the poor, the underserved, and the most vulnerable among us. Because if we're going to bolster our communities and improve the lives of all Philadelphia families, we need to be ambitious in our relentless pursuit of economic justice.
In 2019 alone, the House passed legislation to begin closing the ever-growing gap between the richest among us...and the rest of us:
- The Raise the Wage Act would give 1.475 million Pennsylvania workers a much-needed boost in their incomes to help keep a roof over their heads and their families fed.
- The Working Families Tax Relief Act would expand crucial tax cuts to 4 million Pennsylvanians and put more money in the pockets of the middle class.
- The Homegrown Act of 2019 would make sure small business owners can take advantage of the booming cannabis industry and create more jobs in communities most impacted by the failed War on Drugs.
- The Butch Lewis Act and SECURE Act would make sure our seniors can retire with dignity and not into poverty.
But Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies are more interested in giving their wealthy friends tax breaks than ending poverty. So if you stand with me and my House colleagues in the fight for economic justice, and want continue helping everyday Americans, then chip in $3 -- or whatever you can afford -- today.

I refuse to believe that anything less than an ambitious progressive economic agenda should be fought for. America has a long history of big ideas and meaningful action in the war on poverty -- so why stop now?
55 years ago today, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed one of the most sweeping economic justice bills of its time into law -- the Economic Opportunity Act of 1964 -- which helped everyday Americans get ahead.
I will continue to fight tooth and nail for economic justice -- but I can't do that without your help, Amelia. Support our movement to end poverty today >>
Thanks,
Dwight
