Over the weekend, Trump ordered 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles. More than 700 active-duty Marines have been mobilized to join them. They weren’t requested by California’s governor or L.A.’s mayor—Trump deployed them anyway.

It started with ICE raids. No judicial warrants. People were taken from Home Depot parking lots, elementary school graduations, courthouses, and job sites.

Peaceful protesters responded. Federal agents escalated—with flash-bangs, rubber bullets, and tear gas.

Then, on June 7, Trump issued a Presidential Memorandum giving the Department of Defense new authority to “support” Homeland Security functions on U.S. soil.

This isn’t theoretical. It’s happening now. A new military task force—Task Force 51—has been created to lead the crackdown.

This is not about public safety. It’s about power.

California Attorney General Rob Bonta is suing the Trump administration, calling this a violation of the state’s sovereignty.

But here’s the truth: The troops are already in the streets.

This is how authoritarianism works: Create chaos. Provoke outrage. Use the reaction to justify repression. Then call it “order.”

Stay informed. Stay loud. We cannot let this become the new normal.

And please—make sure you're subscribed to Objection: Everything for more updates and analysis like this.
