Hi Team— In these difficult times, Sara and our team are standing in solidarity with our community and the Black Lives Matter movement. Sara is sharing what she would do as a member of Congress to tackle these issues, while also elevating Black voices and their experiences.
Today we want to give you a recap of what Sara and our team have been up to.
Sara wrote a piece for The San Diego Union-Tribune on the future of policing in San Diego and the need for national reform.

Sara joined the many communities around the district who have been standing up and speaking out for racial justice.

|
Our campaign also held a virtual town hall to discuss how we can continue the work for equality and justice beyond the recent protests.

On the New York Times nonfiction bestseller list this week, 11 of the 15 authors were Black authors, and 12 of the 15 dealt with issues surrounding race. Sara shared some of her favorite books by Black authors.
