The legislative session ends this Thursday (for the Senate) / and Tuesday (for the Assembly) and our state leaders still haven’t taken action to support the child care workforce. In a year where the state budget left out funding for the underpaid and understaffed child care sector, passing the Automatic Rate Increase bill is one critical step they can still take. This bill would ensure that providers who serve lower-income families through the Child Care Assistance Program are paid the current, updated rate, helping stabilize a sector that so many working families rely on.
The Empire State Campaign for Child Care - of which we’re a proud steering committee member - has created a quick call script to make this easy. One call today can make a difference, and sharing it with a friend doubles your impact. State leaders need to hear that this is a priority for their constituents. Let’s make sure they do!
