Click here Dear John, Congress is working to pass the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a destructive piece of legislation that will harm farmers, eaters, rural and urban communities and everyone in between. If passed, this budget bill would slash food assistance for those in need, reduce market opportunities for farmers, take away support for farmers working to address climate change and those responding to natural disasters, and reduce the chances of passing the long-overdue farm bill. The bill also harms rural communities by making deep cuts to Medicaid, which many farmers and rural hospitals depend on. Overall, this bill tilts the scale in favor of the largest and most well-off producers, corporations and consumers. Here's your chance to take action! The bill narrowly passed the House last month with a vote of 215-214. In the coming weeks, it will be debated in the Senate and Congress aims to pass the bill by July 4.
